Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Boston is seeking an On-Call Banquet Cook to support the Culinary Department. Assist the Chef in planning, preparation and production of all banquet food, while anticipating guests’ needs to deliver a memorable dining experience.

You will report to the Sous Chef and Executive Banquet Chef; duties include mise-en-place, portion control, hygiene, and maintaining MOHG standards. On-call shifts include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar position; luxury hospitality strongly preferred.
• Must have good knife skills.
• Knowledgeable about a variety of food and cuisines and proper sanitation practices.
• Must be able to walk and stand for entirety of shift.
• Must be able to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible schedule for on-call shifts to include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Produce dishes according to prescribed recipes; ensure portion size, quality and presentation meet MOHG standards.
• Prepare mise-en-place as required.
• Handle and store food properly to minimize spoilage.
