Job summary

Education & Training Resources LLC seeks an Academic Instructor- Substitute in Oneonta, NY. This on-call, hourly, non-exempt, temp role covers 8:00am–5:00pm and supports students with approved curricula.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree with NYS Teacher Certification and a valid NY Driver's License. Duties include lesson planning, resource selection, and student mentoring to promote achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and an active New York State Teacher Certification.
• An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Applicant MUST possess a Valid New York State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare lesson plans; administer and correct tests
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs
• Recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials
• Motivate and counsel students in behavior, training, personal problems, study habits, etc.
• Coordinate with Independent Living Advisor, Counselors, and staff to resolve issues affecting student training
• Record and forward daily attendance to Student Records and maintain student folders
• Model appropriate behaviors, mentor students, and monitor behaviors through interventions
• Empower students to strive for academic excellence and lifelong learning
