Job summary

Planet Pharma in Cambridge, MA, is seeking an experienced Scientist to join the Oligonucleotide Purification Development team. The role focuses on developing robust purification processes for oligonucleotides and peptides, with exposure to manufacturing processes for clinical and commercial therapeutics.

You will lead purification development, scale-up activities, and contribute to tech transfer and IND regulatory documentation, while mentoring new staff and collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• Proven record of planning and executing projects and experiments.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and creativity in developing purification technologies.
• Lab experience in purification of proteins, peptides and/or DNA/RNA using chromatography and UF/DF.

Responsibilities

• Develop and characterize purification processes for oligonucleotides and peptide drug therapies.
• Utilize multiple modes of chromatography and UF/DF; learn cleavage/conjugation/hybridization steps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve process understanding and manage team activities.
• Document laboratory work in development reports and lead pilot scale activities.
• Scale-up and technology transfer of oligonucleotide processes to pilot and GMP facilities; contribute to IND sections.
