Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Leader for Oil & Gas and Chemical in the United States. The role drives growth across a key market by leveraging deep industry knowledge, strategic business development, and executive engagement.

You will identify opportunities upstream of RFQs, qualify them, and hand them to the sales team for execution, while coordinating with cross-functional ABB portfolios to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field with 10+ years of experience.
• 5+ years in business development, strategic sales, or market development.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Midstream or Chemical industries.
• Solid understanding of industrial power distribution, electrification, automation, or related technologies.
• Proven hunting skills and ability to create a pipeline from new opportunities.
• Experience engaging executive-level customer stakeholders.
• Salesforce and CRM experience.
• Willingness to travel 40-60% within the United States.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ABB's Oil & Gas and Chemical segment growth strategy across the United States.
• Identify, qualify, and develop strategic growth opportunities before procurement stages.
• Build executive-level relationships with owner/operators, EPCs, consultants, OEMs, and integrators.
• Establish ABB thought leadership through conferences and industry engagement.
• Provide market intelligence and insights to the sales organization.
• Partner with district sales teams to transition qualified opportunities for execution.
• Coordinate cross-business opportunities spanning Electrification, Motion, and Automation.
• Serve as the Voice of the Market to shape ABB strategy.
