Job summary

Copeland LP is seeking an Oil Free Centrifugal Senior Systems Engineer in the Sidney, OH area. The role focuses on leading the integration of oil-free centrifugal compressors, controls, and drive into OEM HVAC/R systems, serving as the primary customer-facing technical expert.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with oil free compressors (air, water, or refrigerant) or commercial HVAC systems (preferably chillers).
• An Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent may be considered with ten plus years of experience with oil free compressors (air, water, or refrigerant) or commercial HVAC systems (preferably chillers).
• Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time.
• Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) and wiring.
• Understanding and experience with variable speed drives and the effects on the compressor and system.
• Effective and adaptive oral and written skills for training, technical support and various problem-solving skills.
• Proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) compressor integration with multiple strategic HVAC/R OEM accounts.
• Integrate the compressors, controls and drive into the OEM’s system.
• Act as the primary OFC contact for customers and collaborate with Copeland engineering, marketing, sales and planning teams.
• Provide samples and work with customer engineering teams to test and validate the application.
• Create customer-facing technical specifications and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Provide technical training to internal teams, customers and end-users.
