Job summary

Copeland is seeking a controls engineer for the Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) development team based in Sidney, OH, with some remote work. The role focuses on developing the HMI for the compressor and supporting control logic, requiring hands-on software and hardware collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 3+ years in industrial controls, experience with C# and Python, and strong communication.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial controls, application programming, electronics integration, or similar.
Experience with programming languages (Industrial PLC/DCS, C#, Python, etc.).

Responsibilities

Develop and test compressor HMI applications (currently in C#).
Support compressor test team with lab controls, technician HMI views, and data recording.
Document and track issue and feature requests in GitHub.
Support application engineers with customer questions and troubleshooting.
Support DFMEA reviews for controls and control hardware.
Travel to customer locations for system control support and field troubleshooting (minimal time).
