Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an OGC Counsel to resolve professional ethics conflicts and compliance issues, applying ethics rules and firm policies across lateral clearances, new matters, waivers, and ethics walls. The role collaborates with partners and Ethics Committee Members, with hybrid/in-office options in US offices.

The candidate will have a JD, active state bar status, and at least two years in legal ethics or related risk management, with familiarity in conflicts clearance and waivers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of legal ethics rules and professional responsibility principles.
• Experience with conflicts of interest analysis and clearance processes.
• Strong written and oral communication, with ability to translate ethics concepts into guidance.

Responsibilities

• Resolve conflicts of interest and ethics issues; coordinate with Ethics Committee and stakeholders.
• Review outside counsel guidelines, engagement terms, waivers, and ethics walls; escalate as needed.
• Conduct legal research on ethics rules and professional responsibility topics; assist with trainings.
