Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an OGC Counsel to join the Office of the General Counsel. This role will resolve professional ethics conflicts and related compliance issues by applying ethics rules, professional responsibility principles, firm policies, and practical judgment to lateral clearances, new matters, and waivers, while coordinating with partners and Ethics Committee Members.

This role can be located in any US office with hybrid/in-office flexibility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional responsibility rules and ethics.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in legal ethics or conflicts of interest.
• JD or equivalent and active state bar admission.
• Experience with conflicts clearance processes and waivers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve lateral conflicts and engagement matters.
• Review conflicts checks and advise stakeholders.
• Draft waivers, ethics walls, and engagement letters.
• Help deliver trainings on ethics and conflicts.
• Support audits and other OGC projects.
