Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Offsite Licensed Practical Nurse I to support a fast-paced clinical team in New York. You will assist in planning and implementing care interventions, maintain up-to-date knowledge, and ensure high-quality patient care in a safe, efficient manner.

Responsibilities include patient prep for exams, medication administration, basic nursing care, specimen collection, EMR entry, and coordinating follow-up visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Licensed Practical Nurse certificate program.
• 1.0-2 years experience as Licensed Practical Nurse.
• New York LPN license required.
• IV and/or phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Completes competency skill checklist within first 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and escorts patients for exams and procedures.
• Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician instructions.
• Administers medications, injections, IV therapy as needed within licensure.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments (wounds, catheterizations, dressings).
• Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
• Enters patient information into the electronic medical record accurately.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and communicates delays.
• Manages medical inventory and supplies based on par levels.
