Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Offsite Licensed Practical Nurse I to join the healthcare team. The role involves planning and implementing care interventions, promoting high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient patient flow in a professional and safe manner.

The LPN assists with exams, explains treatments, administers medications and IV therapy as permitted, and provides basic patient care, while documenting accurately in the electronic medical record and coordinating follow-up

Qualifications

• Active NYS Licensed Practical Nurse required.
• Completion of LPN certificate program required.
• 1–2 years as LPN preferred.
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Competency checklist to be completed within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and escorts patient for exams and procedures.
• Explains treatment procedures, medications and physician instructions.
• Administers medications, including injections and IV therapy as permitted.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments and wound care.
• Collects and processes specimens accurately.
• Cleans and prepares treatment rooms for visits.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and manages needs.
• Enters patient data into EMR accurately and timely.
• Performs clerical duties such as appointments and authorizations.
• Manages medical inventory and supplies based on par levels.
• Works under supervision of physician or RN.
