Qualifications

• Must hold a current New York state LPN license.
• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Active BLS card from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic to take and record vital signs and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of basic biology, anatomy and physiology, typing and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Introduces self to patient and escorts to exam room.
• Prepares patient for exams and procedures.
• Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician instructions to patients.
• Administers medications including injections and IV therapy within licensure.
• Performs basic patient care such as wound dressings and catheterizations.
• Collects and processes specimens accurately.
