Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Offsite Licensed Practical Nurse I to join the healthcare team. You will assist in planning and implementing care interventions while promoting high quality patient care in a safe and efficient manner.

The role involves personal care, medical attention and emotional support to patients, under supervision of a physician or RN, with responsibilities ranging from exam prep to EMR entry and inventory management.

Qualifications

• LPN certificate required and NYS LPN license.
• 1.0–2 years as LPN preferred.
• IV and/or phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Completion of competency check within 3 months.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and escorts the patient for exams and procedures.
• Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician instructions to patients.
• Administers medications, including injections; IV therapy as needed within licensure.
• Provides basic patient care such as dressing wounds, catheterization, or applying compresses.
• Collects, labels and processes specimens; prepares rooms for visits.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and communicates delays when necessary.
• Enters patient information into EMR accurately and timely.
• Assists physician and manages the work environment; provides clerical support to patients.
