Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks an Offsite Licensed Practical Nurse I to support the healthcare team by assisting in planning and implementing care while promoting high-quality patient care.

You will provide personal care, administer medications, assist with exams, document in the EMR, and help with inventory and scheduling. Strong communication and a current NY LPN license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of LPN certificate program.
• 1–2 years of LPN experience.
• IV therapy and/or phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Completes competency checklist within 3 months.
• NY LPN license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and escorts the patient for exams and procedures.
• Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
• Administers medications, including injections and IV therapy as needed and within licensure.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments, such as wound dressing, catheterizations, or compresses.
• Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
• Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Schedules follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
• Enters patient information into the electronic medical record accurately and timely.
• Manages the physician's work environment.
• Provides clerical support to patients (appointments, pre-authorizations, calls).
• Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.
