Job summary

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is seeking an Offsite Catering Events Manager to lead and coordinate high-profile catering events for client groups across Chicago and beyond.

This role requires at least 2 years of catering events management, strong prospecting and guest relations skills, and the ability to staff and oversee events, write proposals, and ensure flawless service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of catering events management experience.
• Experience with cold calling and developing guest rapport.
• Ability to write catering proposals and contracts and manage event logistics.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise offsite catered events.
• Solicit new catering clients through prospecting and cold calling.
• Develop and accurately write catering proposals and contracts; follow specific offsite event instructions.
• Staff all catering events, supervise employees working the event, and clearly communicate all details to employees.
• Load, transport and unload food, furniture and equipment to off-site events or designated storage space using vehicle provided in variable traffic (must provide proof of current drivers license and MVR compliance).
• Attend tastings and weekly catering meetings.
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts.
• Respond to client and guest questions and schedule catering events in online system.
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams.
• Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy.
• Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed.
• Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
