Job summary

HappyGlobal Service is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to lead on-site installation, commissioning, and start-up of offshore wind transformers, substations, and switchgear. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and document activities for customers across the US.

The role requires 3+ years in HV field service, plus training as an electrician or mechatronics technician; Journeyman/Master Electrician is preferred. Travel and offshore assignments are expected.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as an electrician/electronics technician (e.g., industrial engineering, energy and building services, automation technology, mechatronics).
• Additional qualification as a Journeyman or Master Electrician is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of field service experience with high‑voltage electrical equipment; offshore wind transformers/substations/switchgear experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, and start-up of offshore wind transformers, compact substations, and switchgear at customer locations.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on offshore transformers, compact substations, and switchgear.
• Rapidly respond to technical issues at customer sites, diagnose and provide effective solutions.
• Use maintenance software to log activities, prepare field service reports, and maintain technical records.
• Strictly adhere to safety policies and regulations including NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E, with offshore safety requirements.
• Supervise and sign off on work by subcontractors within the field maintenance scope.
• Provide technical training and after-sales support to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
