Job summary

Ørsted is seeking an experienced electrical technician to support its North-East offshore wind program. You will commission, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot HV/LV equipment in substations, with safety as a core focus.

The role will involve offshore rotations and onshore/offshore work at substations across the region. You will report to the HV Transmission System Manager and contribute to safe isolation, switching, and outage management while coordinating with contractors and on-site teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience at substations.
• Qualified person under Ørsted HV Safety Rules (ØESR) with switching operations experience.
• Willing to work offshore on rotation (up to 7/14 days) and hold a valid US driver’s license.
• Must complete medical checks and GWO safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide isolation, earthing, and switching for HV and LV equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of HV substation assets.
• Troubleshoot using alarms on SCADA or local control systems.
• Operate transmission configurations and understand relay protection schemes.
• Coordinate outages and inter-system operations with teams.
• Lead contractors and oversee safety procedures during work in substations.
