Job summary

Altrad Sparrows in Houma, LA seeks a Welder / Fitter with 5+ years in manufacturing to fit and weld to AWS D1.1 per drawings. Offshore and shop duties, independent welding, and blueprint interpretation are required.

Qualifications

• Interpret and analyze blueprints to plan welds and fittings.
• Review finished welds for drawing accuracy and quality.
• Able to work on special projects and suggest improvements.
• Must obtain 3G position certification on 1” plate.
• Operate hand tools and material handling equipment safely.
• Strong communication and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Properly fit and/or weld components to AWS D1.1 Code and drawings.
• Plan layouts and templates for weldments.
• Stamp welder ID on completed weldments.
• Ensure correct materials are issued for jobs.
• Provide own hand tools and perform offshore and shop welding.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and train others.
