Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a Production Fitter-Welder to assemble and fit drawing dimensions of structural and mechanical materials for commercial building, bridge and industrial projects. The role involves welding in all positions, following AWS/D1.1 procedures, reading blueprints, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED with 12 months of stable work experience and must pass weld and fitter tests. Certification in AWS D1.1 is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and/or 12 months of stable work experience.
• Must pass required weld test and fitter test.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and blueprints.
• Cert in AWS D1.1 weld test.

Responsibilities

• Follows applicable welding procedures (AWS, AISC).
• Welds on the ground level, above ground and below ground, in any required position.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and plans the fitting operation.
• Cleans up material by grinding or chipping.
• Maintains clean and organized work area.
