Job summary

Gulf Copper LLC in Galveston, TX is seeking Offshore FCAW Plate Welders - 1st Class to join our marine repair and fabrication team. You will weld plate components using FCAW/SMAW, read blueprints, and ensure safety and quality in inland and offshore environments.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of experience, the ability to pass ABS/ASME tests, and a commitment to PPE and safe work practices. Perks include competitive wages and robust benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, some college or technical school certification preferred.
  • Six months to one year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass an ABS, or ASME weld test.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to stand and operate equipment for up to four continuous hours.
  • Ability to climb (100 feet or higher) and lift (50 lbs.).
  • Must wear hearing, eye, head protection, and proper PPE.
  • Ability to work in open-air conditions (noisy, hot, cold, etc.).
  • Willingness to work on inland and offshore barges or in industrial settings.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.

Offshore FCAW Plate Welders - 1st Class - Galveston, TX

Gulf Copper LLC is seeking experienced Offshore FCAW Plate Welders - 1st Class to join their team in Galveston, Texas. These welders will play a key role in the repair and construction of marine vessels and industrial components, working in both inland and offshore environments. The ideal candidates are highly skilled in SMAW and FCAW welding processes, able to interpret technical drawings, and committed to safety and quality standards.
