Job summary

Gulf Crane Services Inc. is seeking an Offshore Rigger to perform rigging, lifting, and material‑handling for offshore construction, maintenance, and installation projects.

You will work with crane operators, fitters, welders, and supervisors to safely move and install equipment and materials, applying rigging best practices and offshore safety procedures. The role requires knowledge of rigging, hand signals, load control, lifting equipment, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in offshore rigging, construction rigging, or oil and gas operations preferred.
• Ability to properly select and use slings, shackles, hooks, chain falls, come-alongs, and related rigging equipment.
• Knowledge of standard crane hand signals.
• Basic understanding of load weights, center of gravity, sling angles, and load control.
• Ability to communicate effectively with crane operators and construction personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform rigging activities for offshore construction, maintenance, equipment installation, and material handling.
• Rig loads for lifting and movement by cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Select appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, chain falls) based on load.
• Attach/detach loads from crane hooks and lifting devices.
• Assist with positioning, setting, and aligning equipment and materials.
• Signal crane operators using hand signals or radio communication.
• Follow lift plans and supervisor instructions.
• Inspect rigging equipment prior to use and report defects.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping in rigging areas.
