Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in offshore rigging or oil and gas operations preferred.
• Knowledge of rigging practices and terminology essential.
• Ability to select and use slings, shackles, hooks, chain falls and related gear.
• Ability to recognize damaged or defective rigging equipment.
• Knowledge of standard crane hand signals.
• Ability to follow lift plans and supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform offshore rigging and lifting operations for installation and maintenance.
• Rig loads for lifting with cranes, hoists, and other equipment.
• Select appropriate rigging gear based on load requirements.
• Attach and detach loads from crane hooks and devices.
• Signal crane operators using approved hand signals or radio.
• Maintain clear communication with crane operators and other personnel.
• Inspect rigging equipment prior to use and report faults.
