Job summary

Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. in Houma, LA seeks an Offshore Rigger to perform rigging operations for lifting and moving materials and structures on offshore locations or in the fabrication yard.

Responsibilities include handling slings and shackles, coordinating crane activity, assisting welders and fitters, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. A pre-employment physical and valid TWIC card are required; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of offshore rigger experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• TWIC card and background check.
• Effective communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Rig slings and rigging to move loads offshore or in-yard.
• Coordinate crane activity and assist operators as needed.
• Assist welders and fitters with setup and cleanup tasks.
• Inspect rigging gear and report defects to supervisor.
• Follow safety policies and rigging procedures.
