ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain ABB LV and MV drives for land-based and offshore wind projects. You will work closely with customers and ABB teams to ensure safety, reliability, and timely resolution of technical questions.

The role requires up to 80% travel, flexibility for long hours and multi-day rotations, and a background in power electronics and motor drives. ABB offers comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 7 years of relevant experience or High school diploma/GED and 9 years of relevant experience or military education/experience required
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 5 years of relevant experience highly preferred
• Knowledge in LV and/or MV Drives, power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters, computer network communication protocol, and theory of operation.

Responsabilités

• Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of ABB Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) for both land based and offshore wind applications.
• Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Carry out preparatory work regarding spare parts, testing of tools and equipment, and documentation as required.
• In close co-operation with customers and other ABB teams, takes actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB.
