Job summary

SpaceX in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (Paramedic) to join a world-class team. The role supports offshore recovery operations, ensures health and safety of crews and the environment, and serves as a licensed paramedic during offshore activities.

You will lead safety programs, perform risk assessments, conduct training and inspections, and coordinate environmental compliance with EPA, USCG, and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Paramedic (NREMT or State of Florida).
• ACLS and CPR certified or ability to get certified within 30 days of hire.
• 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.
• 4+ years of experience managing emergency response crews in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the paramedic during offshore operations, performing work in offshore/marine environments.
• Ensure safety programs and standards compliance (hazard communication, fall protection, confined space, LOTO, etc.).
• Conduct respiratory training and fit tests for personnel.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and develop job hazard analyses and PPE assessments.
• Perform and document safety inspections and assist with investigations.
• Support recovery operations at sea for Falcon 9, Dragon, and Starship.
• Develop and maintain SpaceX environmental policies per EPA/USCG/DOT/RA requirements.
