Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (Paramedic) to join an elite team responsible for offshore and dockside recovery of flown spaceflight hardware. The role combines emergency medical duties with rigorous EH&S program execution to protect crews and the environment.

The candidate will serve as a licensed paramedic during offshore operations, implement safety standards, conduct training, and support hazardous materials management across Falcon 9, Dragon, and Starship

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Registered paramedic (EMT) or registered nurse (RN).
• 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.
• 4+ years of experience managing emergency response crews in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil and water.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the paramedic during offshore operations.
• Recognize requirements and ensure compliance with safety programs and standards including hazard communication, slip/trip/falls, fall protection, confined space, hot work, respiratory protection, LOTO, machine guarding, tools, electrical, emergency shower and eyewash, and chemical management.
• Conduct respiratory training and fit tests.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and conditions for job-related tasks.
• Create and maintain job hazard analyses and PPE assessments.
• Perform safety inspections and assist with investigations.
• Document corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
• Support recovery operations at sea for Falcon 9, Dragon, and Starship.
