Gulf Island in Broussard, LA seeks Offshore Combo Fitters to join our team and perform iron fabrication and fitting of steel structures offshore on Gulf projects. Candidates should excel in blueprint reading and thrive in challenging outdoor environments and offshore construction settings.

Ideal applicants have at least 5 years as a fitter, can pass pipe fitting or structural tests, and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a fitter.
• Ability to pass written and practical pipe fitter or structural test.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• TWIC card.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, lift 25-75 pounds, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Knowledge and use of tools such as cutting torches, measuring tapes, calculators, levels, man-lifts, welding machines, chipping hammers, pressure chippers, and power grinders.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and fit iron/steel structures offshore.
• Read blueprints and follow welding and cutting procedures.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions and environments.
• Maintain safety standards and pass pre-employment screenings.
