Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an experienced pipe fitter for offshore fabrication activities in the Gulf area. The role requires reading blueprints, laying out piping and structural components, and ensuring conformance to specifications per ISO/QC standards.

Responsibilities include study of drawings, measurements, cutting, fitting, and installation, with emphasis on safety and effective communication in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of pipe fitting or structural fabrication experience.
• Ability to pass written and practical pipe fitter or structural tests.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Able to pass a background check.
• TWIC card required.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install structural components per drawings.
• Verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
• Lays out and installs piping, equipment, and other systems per drawings.
• Inspect worksites for obstructions and safety issues.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
