Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an experienced pipe fitter/structural fabricator for offshore construction in the Gulf of America region. The role involves reading drawings, cutting, and fitting structural and pipe components per specifications and QA standards.

Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience, pass a physical and drug screen, and hold a TWIC card. This on-site position requires strong communication and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience and ability to demonstrate passing a written and practical pipe fitter or structural test.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass background check.
• TWIC card required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High school diploma or GED is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Read and interpret blueprint and specifications.
• Perform calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles).
• Measure, cut, fit and install structural/pipe components per drawings.
• Locate workpieces, verify tolerances and material thicknesses.
• Follow offshore fabrication fitting procedures for jackets, decks, heliports and facilities.
• Inspect work for conformance to specifications using measurement tools.
• Laying out and installing piping and equipment per drawings.
