Job summary

RRD Company in Smyrna, Tennessee seeks an experienced Printing and Bindery Specialist to operate and maintain offset presses on the 1st shift. You will set up, adjust, and run single or multi-color presses, ensuring color accuracy and on-time production.

Ideal candidates understand offset printing procedures, can read job specs, mount plates with a micrometer, and perform routine maintenance while mentoring newer staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications to determine press setup materials.
• Understanding of press capabilities to determine appropriate adjustments.
• Ability to measure and set packing pressure for correct printing pressure.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.
• Experience with routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ability to adjust feeder and guides for accurate timing.
• Experience in training new and existing employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press.
• Perform make-ready tasks and inspect plates/cylinders for imperfections.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; replace worn parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
