RRD in Smyrna, TN is hiring a Press Operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a high-speed offset press. You will perform all make-ready tasks, examine plates and cylinders, and ensure color accuracy before production runs.

The role requires reading job specifications, selecting the right press settings, and performing routine maintenance. You will train and mentor new and existing staff, uphold safety standards, and help improve quality and efficiency across shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine appropriate press usage and materials.
• Skill to set controls precisely and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Knowledge of packing pressure and printing pressure for different jobs.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates correctly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates, installing cylinders, and checking image alignment.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications before production.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on policies, procedures, and best practices.
