Job summary

RR Donnelley in Smyrna, Tennessee seeks an experienced Printing and Bindery Specialist on 2nd shift. You will set up, adjust, operate and maintain multiple press systems, performing make-readies, color corrections and image alignment to ensure print quality.

You will also train colleagues and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, plate and cylinder handling, and applying proper packing pressure.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine appropriate press usage and settings.
• Ability to perform precise press settings and routine maintenance.
• Knowledge of packing pressure to achieve proper printing pressure.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders and checking image alignment.
• Make color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press and replace worn parts as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees to improve team performance.
