Job Description And Duties

Under the general supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Technician (Typing) provides clerical support and regularly performs duties including: typing/data entry; mail and document handling; filing and records management; document preparation and review; composition of correspondence; oral communications; and ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment.

Working Conditions

This position is located at: 320 W. 4th St., Suite 690, Los Angeles, CA 90013.


The incumbent works in an air-conditioned office building with natural and artificial lighting as well as temperature control. In addition, the incumbent works in a cubicle near others. The position is required to work extensively on computers as necessary for drafting documents, conducting research, drafting email communication, and other purposes.


Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40-hour work week)


Special Requirements


  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.


A copy of a valid 40 wpm typing certificate needs to be included in the application package.
