Job summary

WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV is seeking a dispatcher to support patient transportation within our EMS operations. You’ll monitor ground assets using CAD, coordinate pre-authorizations, and work with hospitals and EMS crews to ensure timely, safe transport for patients.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, Valid Driver’s License, and relevant medical certification. Experience as a dispatcher and as a medical provider is strongly preferred.

• Answers phone calls and provide exceptional customer service.
• Monitors the location of ground assets to ensure accurate tracking to meet the transport need.
• Utilizes the CAD system to enter call information and assign assets efficiently.
• Works with mutual aid agencies to coordinate transport needs.
• Ensures paperwork compliance and crew feedback processes.
• Provides logistics support and restocking of assets.
• Assist with data entry, filing, and keeping the operation organized.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

• At least Two (2) years of experience as a dispatcher.
• At least Two (2) years as a medical provider (EMT, Paramedic, Clinical Associate, Medical Assistant, RN, etc.).
• Experience in the EMS industry.
• Experience in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems (Zoll and/or Zeurcher).
• Experience in EMS billing, coding, and compliance.
