Job description

Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Financial Operations Manager, the Office Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support and logistical coordination in the daily operations of the Associated Students (ASUCR) Office. The incumbent supports the Financial Operations Manager and Executive Director and oversees the operation of the ASUCR Front Desk and Reception area. The role includes hiring, training, and supervising front desk student assistants and serving as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, alumni, and guests. The position also provides facilities and inventory support to the Highlander Newspaper and the Graduate Student Association. The full salary range for the ASUCR Office Coordinator (job code: 004722) is $61,282.80–$87,821.28 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $63,000 annually. Applicants must have current work authorization; we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
  • Demonstrated extensive administrative experience providing administrative support for staff in a student services administration office environment.
  • Five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with UC and UCR policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated prior experience and knowledge in higher education administration.

  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction, organizing tasks, documents, and materials efficiently and accurately, and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers in a team environment.
  • Skill in analyzing policy issues, procedures, and other directives and forming solid recommendations, demonstrating experience providing administrative support for staff and/or faculty and coordinating administrative activities to ensure the effective functioning of an office setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills, experience in handling difficult situations in a calm and professional manner, demonstrated ability to manage the resolution of concerns or complaints, and ability to work effectively in a service environment subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with students, faculty, professional staff, administrators, community partners, and visitors, and compose letters, memos, reports, and other written communication materials using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, text editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, knowledge of the applicable federal and state regulations governing areas related to responsibilities of the position including FERPA.
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely, organized, and accurate manner under pressures of deadlines, interruptions, and competing priorities, and coordinating administrative activities by determining time, place, and sequence of actions.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), other equivalent software, the Internet, e‑mail messaging, and web‑based software applications.
