Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Financial Operations Manager, this position provides programmatic, financial, and administrative advisement and coordination to ASUCR funded organizations. It oversees organization budgets, assists with budget planning and forecasting, monitors, balances, tracks and organizes all budget funds, and prepares reports for the ASUCR accounting function. Additionally, it serves as secondary accounting and operations coordinator to ASUCR and Highlander Newspaper financial operations.
The full salary range for this coordinator is $32.03 - $46.82 per hour, with an expected pay scale up to $32.03 per hour.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Master's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training (preferred).
Experience Requirements
- 2‑4 years of related experience.
- Experience preparing accounting journal entries and posting to the general ledger.
- Minimum 1 year of higher education related experience.
- Experience with spreadsheet programs such as Excel, UCR financial systems (UCRFS), Student Information System (Banner), R'Space, Highlander Link and other related programs (preferred).

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring accurate financial processing functions (accounts payable, receivable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel/entertainment, gift accounting, cashiering, and collections) and smooth daily operations.
- Serve as primary contact and budgetary adviser for over 200 ASUCR funded organizations, advising on compliance with UCR and ASUCR policies and procedures.
- Conduct or assist with researching, developing, and implementing new and changing business processes.
- Document processes and procedures for financial activities.
- Provide financial training, advising, and assistance to the ASUCR Finance Committee for funding/implementing programs, events, and other allocations; serve as non‑voting ex‑officio on these committees.
- Monitor quality customer service delivery to internal department clients and external vendors.
- Serve as point of contact for campus partners utilizing their funding on‑campus.
- Recruit, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate the Student Accounting Assistant, ensuring adherence to policies, bylaws, and accurate use of Fund and university systems.
- Review, process, and approve standardized financial data and transactions; address complex customer inquiries.
- Utilize and interface internal Fund accounting program, university ledgers (UCRFS), Excel, and other programs to coordinate organizational budgets and ensure fiscal integrity of all funding sources; serve as secondary financial coordinator for ASUCR and Highlander Newspaper budgets.
- Prepare reports and analyses for management review and decision‑making.
- Generate regular reporting for student organizations, student leaders, and professional staff.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
