Description

This position is in the Property Tax Division of Maine Revenue Services and provides office and administrative support to an agency, requiring operation of office equipment and knowledge of office processes and clerical functions. The role involves complex, varied office tasks that require independent decision-making and a solid understanding of modern office practices.

Representative Tasks
  • Ensure compliance with state policies, including security and confidentiality protocols.
  • Create and utilize various correspondence formats and compose business correspondence.
  • Produce informational materials using graphics, illustrations, and publication tools.
  • Develop and use electronic formats for forms, pamphlets, graphs, and maps.
  • Update and maintain web pages with established content.
  • Examine documents, identify errors, and take necessary actions.
  • Perform secretarial duties like scheduling, travel arrangements, and document review.
  • Coordinate workshops, training, and orientation sessions.
  • Prepare reports and administer examinations as per procedures.
  • Monitor contracts, licenses, and handle fee transactions.
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries, providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Interpret and apply rules, regulations, and policies to routine cases.
  • Develop standard work procedures within guidelines.
  • Potentially lead a work team, including scheduling, instructing, and reviewing work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of graphics, illustration, and publication principles and equipment.
  • Familiarity with internet-based information distribution.
  • Ability to create varied correspondence and prepare reports.
