Job summary

Tech Ord is seeking a Training Assistant in Clear Lake, SD to help plan, organize, and coordinate training for personnel. The role includes recordkeeping, front desk support, and assisting with HR projects.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, the ability to communicate in English, and strong organizational skills. Some training coordination experience is preferred, and the position requires onsite work with safety procedures in place.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to work at this facility.
  • Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (ATF for all employees).
  • High school diploma or GED is required. Experience in facilitating training and/or organizing training information or programs is preferred.
  • Function Specific RCRA training upon hire.
  • Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
  • Ability to work with all employees in a team environment.
  • Reliability demonstrated by regular attendance to assist in coverage of reception area.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage large quantities of records for retrieval.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to set and establish priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, and recordkeeping for training of personnel.
  • Provide administrative support for front desk and projects.
  • Maintain training records and assist with external training coordination.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure training completion.
  • Maintain the learning management system and coordinate course assignments.

  • Perform reception duties as needed and assist with PPE for guests.

Reports to: Human Resources Manager Work Location: Clear Lake, SD

Functional Area: Human Resources Required Travel: None

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: 24.00+/hr DOE

Schedule: 36/4

Job Summary: The Training Assistant will assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, and recordkeeping for training of personnel in the organization. This role will also provide assistance with projects and administrative support for the front desk.

Essential Job Functions
  • Training responsibilities for facility include notifying employees of necessary training, maintaining training records, and assisting with facilitating external training.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and managers to ensure assigned training is completed.
  • Maintaining the learning management systems by working with vendors to assign courses, adding or deleting users, sending out monthly status reports to managers/supervisors, and all other training related tasks.
  • Helping with safety-related training as assigned.
  • Performing reception duties as needed, including answering telephones, greeting guests, ensuring visitors meet security requirements and providing PPE for guests.
  • Assists human resources staff and manager with projects as assigned.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Ability to talk and hear in order to communicate with others.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives.
  • Ear protection is required as identified throughout the facility.

Where required employees must wear a minimum of 50 percent cotton clothing including undergarments to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD). Employees must also wear company-issued safety footwear.
