Job description

The Operations Technical Trainer is responsible for serving as both a technical subject matter expert (SME) and a highly detail-oriented administrator supporting the Company's operational training programs. This is an onsite position based at our Temple, Texas facility.

In addition to hands-on instruction, this position carries a significant administrative and systems-based workload, including managing training documentation, schedules, records, audits, and learning resources. The trainer ensures all training content remains aligned with approved materials and Standard Work Instructions, and acts as a frontline technical resource for training clarification, quality, gap identification, and continuous improvement.

Instruction is delivered through a variety of methods, including classroom, workshops, computer-based learning, video, PowerPoint, on-the-job training, one-on-one coaching, and large-group sessions. This role requires a technically capable professional who can translate operational complexity into effective training while maintaining rigorous administrative control to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

• Deliver training curriculum aligned with Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), Job Aids, and Checklists.
• Execute and maintain the master training schedule, including new-hire orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training programs.
• Manage and maintain the on-site Learning Lab to support hands-on training activities.
• Conduct routine training audits to ensure compliance with established standards and effectiveness of training delivery.
• Assess team member performance and identify needs for additional, specialized, or adaptive instruction.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Operational standards, as well as other systems that may influence training needs.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to trainees, department leaders, and Site Managers regarding trainee performance and progression against Job Progression standards.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts across multiple product lines to develop, update, and improve training materials.
• Conduct gap analysis of standard work and quality documentation to identify training opportunities and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including supporting production activities such as building active orders to meet shipment commitments.

• Thorough understanding of safety and quality standards, standard work procedures, and operating practices for each applicable product line.
• Ability to effectively explain technical and safety-related information to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with employees and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated public speaking, presentation, or facilitation experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Previous mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred.
• Experience safely using hand and power tools is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and potential hazards within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to respond to employee questions and concerns accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner.
• Ability to observe employee performance, identify areas requiring additional instruction, and provide effective coaching and training.
• Ability to adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels of experience.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing and office environment, with approximately 50% of the time spent performing administrative and office-based responsibilities and 50% of the time spent onsite in the production facility conducting training and supporting employees. The role requires regular interaction with employees, production teams, and leadership and may involve working in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, machinery, and other manufacturing-related conditions. Appropriate PPE must be worn when working in production areas.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting training or observing production activities.
• Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and stoop while conducting training, inspections, investigations, or evaluating work processes.
• Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ladders, platforms, or elevated work areas when conducting safety or training activities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to visually observe employee performance, work areas, equipment, and documentation and identify potential safety concerns.
• Ability to work in varying industrial conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and moving equipment, while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to safely navigate and work within active production and manufacturing environments.
