Job summary

Premier Eye Associates is seeking a friendly Office Assistant to join our growing private practice in Opelika, AL. You will learn front desk, clinical technician, and optical duties with comprehensive on-the-job training.

This position offers the opportunity to learn multiple areas of eye care, including front desk, clinical technician, and optical duties. No previous eye care experience is required, as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to step in wherever needed to provide an exceptional experience for our patients.

What You'll Do

Welcome patients, assist with check-in and check-out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and support front-office operationsGuide patients through health histories, pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and other clinical aspects of their visitAssist doctors with patient flow, contact lens services, pre- and post-operative care, and patient educationHelp patients with frame selection, eyewear options, and other optical servicesVerify insurance benefits and assist with patient paperwork and informationEducate patients about routine, preventative, and medical eye careProvide friendly, attentive service while helping wherever needed across the practice

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Receptionist or front-office experience

  • Optical or eyewear experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to stay organized in a busy environment

Position Details

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Shift: 8-hour shifts

Evenings: None

Weekends: None

Pay Range: minimum $14.00 per hour; final pay is based on relevant experience and qualifications
