Job summary

Chartis Federal is seeking an Off-Grid Power Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and modernize wireless communication power solutions, including solar and hybrid configurations. You will analyze performance, conduct field tests, and support power system deployments in challenging environments.

The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with solar power design and BOM development, plus the ability to travel up to 25% to remote sites.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant field or equivalent technical experience.
• Current DHS Tier 2 BI or DOD Secret clearance required.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing solar power systems and BOMs.
• Travel up to 25% to remote field sites; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and design off grid power systems supporting wireless communications including solar and hybrid systems.
• Create BOMs and perform power load analyses; size solar arrays and battery storage for mission-critical ALR needs.
• Gather requirements, develop solutions; provide preliminary designs and cost estimates; support procurement.
• Compare solar systems to requirements and validate performance via field testing.
• Deploy and support off grid solar systems in the field; troubleshoot issues.
