Job summary

Cottage Inn by the Sea in Pismo Beach, CA seeks a Guest Service Representative to welcome guests, handle check-ins/outs, and support front desk operations with warm hospitality. You’ll process payments, answer questions, and assist guests with reservations and local recommendations.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience preferred.
• Genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and confident when interacting with guests.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests with a warm, efficient check-in.
• Process departures, close accounts, ensure charges accurate.
• Handle cash, credit transactions, receipts, and guest accounts.
• Answer questions and provide knowledgeable recommendations about the hotel and surrounding area.
• Manage reservations by phone and in person, accurately communicating rates and availability.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to create value and enhance the guest experience.
• Stay informed about hotel amenities and local events to assist guests.
• Answer incoming calls and manage wake-up call requests.
• Receive, sort, and distribute guest mail and messages; maintain front desk logs.
• Coordinate with other departments to support the guest experience.
