Nippon Express USA is seeking a seasoned Ocean Import Supervisor to lead the department, supervise staff, and ensure timely freight processing across air, land and sea imports. You will manage workflows, train team members, and collaborate with operations to meet service standards.

The role emphasizes accuracy, problem solving, and strong communication. A high school diploma plus 3+ years in Ocean Import with prior supervisory experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organization skills.
• Minimum 3+ years of Ocean Import experience with previous team lead or supervisory experience.
• Must be flexible with work schedule and able to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide departmental support and supervise the staff in the Ocean Import department.
• Supervises and directs Ocean Import staff in performing work according to operating procedures.
• Issue freight bills and invoices to brokers and collect unpaid invoices within credit terms.
• Monitor performance and scheduling of staff.
• Trains Ocean Import staff.
• Ensure department compliance with policies and government regulations.
• Review workflows and provide feedback to maintain high service quality.
• Document discrepancies and missed deadlines.
• Collaborate with operations to achieve target goals.
• Build positive relationships with management, peers, and colleagues.
