Job summary

DSV Air & Sea Inc. is seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to manage the import process for ocean freight, ensure customs compliance, and lead a team of import freight forwarders.

The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective shipments. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in ocean imports with supervisory experience, strong knowledge of import regulations, and proficiency in SAP and TMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant work experience considered in lieu of formal education.
• 3–5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the ocean import department.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Supervise a team of ocean import freight forwarders.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments.
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, trucking companies, and other service providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the transportation management system.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on import regulations and procedures.
• Prepare reports and metrics related to import operations.
