Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in New York, NY is seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to oversee day-to-day ocean import operations and support the Import Manager in achieving operational goals.

The role acts as a key liaison between the operations team and leadership, ensuring accurate documentation, timely shipment processing, and adherence to FDA and ISF/POA procedures while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4–6 years experience in ocean imports or related field.
• Experience with import entry procedures, compliance and regulations.
• FDA experience required.
• Knowledge of ISF, POA/FPOA entry processes, FDA & OGA transactions, Lacey Act & PPQ forms, and CARNETS.

Responsibilities

• Receive and track customer bookings and issue shipping instructions.
• Notify customers of arrival, charges and holds, including customs actions.
• Process customs entries including FDA related entries.
• Transmit information to ABI, verify results, and manage releases and corrections.
• Coordinate entry and break-bulk shipments with Sales.
• Ensure accurate documentation and data quality for each file.
• Bill/invoice files to customers with attention to payment terms.
• Provide job costing forecasts and manage payables/receivables.
