Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in the United States is seeking a Freight Forwarder Ocean Import to manage ocean import operations, including customs clearance, carrier booking, tracking, and final delivery. This role requires coordination with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.

You will monitor shipments, provide customers with updates, and handle documentation for customs clearance while maintaining compliance with trade laws.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics preferred.
• Experience in ocean imports is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with basic math for cost calculations.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed.
• Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Manage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
