Job summary

Scan Global Logistics in Arlington, VA seeks an experienced Ocean Freight Manager to oversee ARG international ocean import/export operations, lead the Ocean Freight team, ensure regulatory compliance and drive efficiency on complex shipments.

The role requires 5+ years in ocean freight forwarding, strong leadership, and ability to manage relations with customers, carriers, brokers, and agents; on-site work with potential relocation to Elizabeth, NJ.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in ocean freight forwarding, preferably ARG/NGO/humanitarian logistics.
• Minimum 2 years in supervisory/management roles in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Working knowledge of ITAR and U.S. export controls relevant to ocean freight operations.
• Experience handling project cargo and complex shipments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ocean import/export operations from origin to final delivery.
• Lead and develop the Ocean Freight team with coaching and performance feedback.
• Serve as primary escalation point for operational issues and customer concerns.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, U.S. Customs, FMC, and export controls.
