Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across ages. You will implement therapy plans, collaborate with families and healthcare teams, and document outcomes in alignment with regulatory standards.

The role offers a sign-on bonus and requires an OTA license and BLS completion within 30 days. A minimum of 1+ year experience in a clinical setting is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in occupational therapy assisting required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Illinois license or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days from hire.
• Attend required continuing education on acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care and documents communications.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based interventions and adapts activities as needed.
• Collaborates with patient, family and care team throughout rehabilitation.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Maintains clear, objective documentation supporting decisions for payers.
• Contributes to quality improvement and service delivery initiatives.
• Communicates patient status and discharge recommendations with the medical team.
