Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat patients of all ages and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students. The role includes a sign-on bonus and requires an OTA license with a BLS certification. 1+ year of experience is preferred.

Follows a therapist’s plan of care, delivers patient-centered interventions, collaborates with families, and ensures thorough documentation for payers and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
• Attend and satisfactorily complete continuing education for acute stroke care

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care. Communicates with the evaluating therapist before implementing changes.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based interventions and adapts activities to patient needs and environment.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Maintains clear, objective documentation to support decisions and provider payers.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and communicates progress to the team.
