Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care. Adjusts the treatment based on patient response and communicate with the evaluating therapist.
• Implements intervention plans that are patient-centered and occupation-based, adapting to patient needs.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and significant others throughout the occupational therapy process.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Produces clear, objective documentation that supports decisions and informs payers.
