Job summary

TheraDynamics, a therapist-owned rehabilitation company, seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant in a skilled nursing facility setting to help patients regain independence and return home when possible.

You will work with a team (nursing, PT, SLP, social work) to design interventions for ADLs, cognition, and safe discharge planning, with tools and support to enable success.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in procedures, tests and complex treatments for safe evaluation and treatment.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work for coordinated patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Clinical reasoning and productivity expectations are part of the role.

Your work directly determines whether a patient goes home or stays ina facility — and we give you the tools, time, and support to make that happen.

What You Will Do

You assist Occupational Therapist in performing procedures,test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation andtreatment of patients; develop individualized treatment plans focused onfunctional independence, and collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social workto ensure coordinated patient care. You will address self-care skills,cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, andcaregiver training.
